French-Canadian singer-songwriter Al Sam blends acoustic soul and R&B into music that feels raw, honest, and deeply human. Based in Ottawa, his songs explore love, growth, and connection, turning real experiences into easy-listening reflective music.

Al Sam’s path was shaped by discipline, grief and discovery. A career-ending injury became the turning point that led him back to music as a way to reconnect with himself and others.

Since releasing his 2024 EP Crave You, he’s continued to grow as both artist and community builder. Through Ottawa: Make a Scene and the Portage Orchard Open Mic Mondays, he’s helped create spaces where artists, entrepreneurs, and music lovers meet and collaborate.

Today, Al Sam focuses on simplicity and truth, sharing monthly singles and stripped-down live sessions that capture the soul of his songwriting. Whether on stage, in the studio, or online, his goal remains the same: to bring people closer and meaningfully.

AL SAM | Catching Rain

BIO:

Catching Rain represents a love of life in all its forms. With Maya bumpin' on the sax, Ben judiciously (and masterfully) leading from the drums, Joe grooving from the bass, Matt jazzy riffin' on guitar, and Al Sam singing, the band blends into a rich and unique sound.

Made up of musicians with varied backgrounds, the group has found something special together. Catching Rain isn’t just about the music; it’s about embracing the highs, the lows, and everything in between. It’s a celebration of the power of attitude, finding beauty in the storms, and dancing in the rain.
